Henry McAllister

Henry & Della McAllister

 Henry McAllister was born on June 02, 1915 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the son of Scottish immigrants, Henry McAllister and Margaret Kyle (Richardson) McAllister. They moved their family to the United States when the children were small.

Henry enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduation from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1933.  He served in the South Pacific during World War II, and during his 32 year career served on ships in Washington, Oregon, California and Alaska. He retired as skipper of the Cutter Fur in 1965.

He married Della O. Klose on December 31, 1939 in Ketchikan, Alaska. They had one daughter, Valerie.

Henry passed away on April 20, 2003 in Seattle, King County, Washington and is buried next to his beloved wife, who predeceased him in 1998, at Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, King County, Washington. He was also predeceased by a brother, Andrew, his parents, and two grandchildren; Cherie Del Baldwin & Ronald Henry Kline.
