Olive A. Klose died at the
Ketchikan Pioneer Home Friday night. Mrs. Klose, the widow of Otto Klose, was a lifelong Alaska resident. She was born in Wrangell 85 years ago, on December 5, 1900. She married Otto in Wrangell on April 09, 1918. The family moved to Ketchikan in 1925 where she lived more than 50 years in her home at First Avenue and Austin Street. Survivors include her daughter, Della, wife of Henry McAllister, of Seattle; son, Victor E. Klose of Ketchikan; granddaughter Valerie, wife of Ronald Kline, of Ketchikan; grandson, Kurtis Klose, of Ketchikan; great-granddaughter, Victoria, wife of Rick Marti, of Ketchikan; great-great-granddaughter, Tambre Marti and great-great-grandson, Tristan Marti, both of Ketchikan. A brother, George, and a sister, Elizabeth, as well as a son, Victor T. Klose, and two great-grandchildren, Cherie D. Baldwin and Ronald H. Kline, predeceased her. Mrs. Klose was a loving mother and grandmother and was known for her caring ways and happy disposition, as well as for her famous homemade pies and jellies. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Internment will be at Bayview Cemetery.
