Norman F. Kline was a retired Captain of the Pottsville, Pennsylvania Police
force, having served on the force for 22 years; from 1936 to 1958. He
was a graduate of the FBI National Police Academy. He was a life
member of Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, and a member of
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 44. Mr. Kline served in World War I from 1917 to 1919 with Co. D., 28th Division, U. S. Army. He fought on three fronts, and took part in seven major battles. In 1928 he was selected as one of a guard of honor to decorate memorials in France. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, Co. D, from October 1925 to September 1949. He retired as a major. He and his wife Stella (Keeney) had eleven children.
