In Loving Memory
Thomas Lee "TJ" Jorgensen May 2, 1945 - July 14, 2008
|
Born May 2, 1945, Thomas Lee Jorgensen,
"TJ", entered the Kingdom of God July 14, 2008 to be reunited with his
mother and father, Maurice and Helen Jorgensen. TJ waged a courageous battle
against a stubborn cancer known as a mesothelioma.
Tom was born and raised in Puyallup, just across the street from the Puyallup Fair, with his sister Pat. Tom graduated from Puyallup High School in 1963 and was and always will be a proud Viking. Following high school Tom joined the Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following the service, TJ began his career in the custom cabinet and showcase business as a draftsman for Custom Craft Fixtures before opening up his very own business with partner Kirk, known as the Cascade Fixture Company. TJ's company created display showcases for such businesses as the Bon, Nordstrom, and the Seattle Mariners Team Store. Tom married Patricia Kline in 1979 and together raised their only son, Brett McDaniel, who graduated from Puyallup 30 years later in '93. TJ loved going to Viking basketball and football games and never missed a good Viking "butt-kicking." Many know, TJ had a passion for street rods, and if there is a car show in heaven TJ will be there. TJ would have it no other way than to make sure we gave special thanks to Dr. Dennis Nichols of Tacoma MultiCare for his passion and care of his patients and families, as well as Dr. Eric Vallieres of Swedish Hospital for taking on a risky surgery and giving it his all, Dr. Sibel Blau, TJ's oncologist, Betty Stewart her assistant, and all the wonderful oncology nurses on the 4th floor, who helped our family at Good Samaritan Hospital. Tom is survived by his wife Patricia of 29 years, son Brett McDaniel, sister Pat Tuthill, granddaughters Jorja and McKenna, daughter-in-law Elli, numerous nephews and nieces, and his cat "Dinkers." Tom would like to thank all of his family and friends for their on-going love and support throughout Tom's 9 month battle with cancer. Because of all of you, Tom got to see his dream house at the lake finished. We will miss you, Tom, more than you know and will do our best to live our lives as honest, loving, and as giving as you. Go be with the Angels now and just remember, there are no speed limits in Heaven! A celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday,
July 26, 2008, 2pm at the Liberty Theater, located at 116 West Main,
Puyallup, 253-864-8116. Dress casual and wear your favorite hat and sports
or car shirt. |
